What is the difference between your standard photo prints and giclee prints?

Giclee is a high-quality inkjet printing process where dye-based inks are sprayed onto archival paper. This process allows for a wider color range, smooth gradations, sharp detail, and vibrant color reproduction. Giclee printing also offers a variety of paper options like high gloss, semi gloss, black & white, deep matte, & fine art.

Our Standard Photo Prints are printed with the silver-halide printing method, a more traditional printing process that uses light-sensitive, archival paper and chemicals to develop your photo. Standard Photo Prints are offered in either semi-gloss (e-surface) paper or metallic paper.

Our Fine Art Giclee Paper is a thick matte paper suitable for galleries and professional portfolios. Fine Art Giclee Prints are acid-free featuring a subtle watercolor texture and a smooth matte finish. These prints offer neutral tones and deep blacks. The weight is 200 GSM.

No, lustre coating is not available for giclee prints.

Do I need to frame giclee prints if I’m displaying them?

Accepted Answer

If you’re planning to display your giclee prints, you may consider framing them behind glass or acrylic for an extra layer of protection. If you don’t want to add glass or acrylic, you may want to consider an E-surface photo print (semi-gloss) with lustre coating for added protection or a metallic print.

Can I add a border to my giclee prints?

Accepted Answer

Yes, you can add white borders on print sizes up to 11x14”. For both photographic and giclee prints, you can choose to add a white border to your prints during the print ordering process by selecting “Finishing & Border” or “Border”. A 1/2" or 1/4" white border will be automatically added to your print. The size of the border depends on the print size selected.
